“Agassiz”
Agassiz Music (which each summer also presents the Agassiz International Summer Chamber Music Festival) was named after Lake Agassiz, the ancient and vast lake which covered large parts of Manitoba, as well as some of Alberta, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Saskatchewan and Ontario. Our vision is provide international level chamber music concerts in the very centre of the country featuring the most renowned artists living in this rich geographical area. It is a great privilege and pleasure to be able to invite internationally acclaimed Manitoban artists (sometimes living elsewhere) to perform and share their artistry and passion with our audience, with our CBC audience and with our Manitoban composers.
