Mise à Sax has been performing together since the fall of 2006. They study at the University of Manitoba where they are coached by accomplished saxophonist Allen Harrington. Over the past two years, Mise à Sax has won several awards, scholarships and titles, including Manitoba Chamber Orchestra’s Young Musician of the year (2007) and Lieutenant Governor's Trophy for Most Outstanding Performance of the 90th Annual Winnipeg Music Festival (2008). In the summer of 2008 they attended the Canadian National Music Festival in Edmonton, where they placed second overall in the chamber group category. Mise à Sax recently performed at the North American Saxophone Alliance Region 9 conference in Edmonton, and plan to attend and perform at the World Saxophone Congress held in Bangkok, Thailand this July.
