Rena Sharon studied piano with Menahem Pressler and György
Sébok, and chamber music with Janos Starker, Franco
Gulli, and Joseph Gingold. In 1987, she was awarded the "Best
Pianist" diploma at the International Voice Competition
of Rio de Janeiro. Art Song mentors include Erik Werba, Jorg
Demus, and Gwendolyn Koldofsky. She performs internationally
as chamber musician and soloist, and has collaborated with
artists such as Steven Isserlis, Pamela
Frank, Richard Margison, Kevin MacMillan, and Gary Hoffman.
She is a frequent lecturer for C.B.C. radio on "The Art
of Song", and has recorded on disc for Finlandia, Marquis
and C.B.C. SM5000. During the summer, she is Artistic Director
of the Whistler Young Artist Chamber Music Festival.
