Our opening festival concert featured Amy Beach’s Piano Quintet, a work inspired by Brahms’s magnificent and powerful Piano Quintet, the work which closes the festival. In addition to three romances by world famous pianist/composer, Clara Schumann, we also present a three summer songs and dances by composers with Argentinian, Azerbaijani and African roots, a fitting close to a festival celebrating the wonderful diversity of music.
