Concert Details
Two exceptional quartets share the stage for an evening that spans centuries and continents. The Callisto Quartet — winners of the Banff International String Quartet Competition — bring their prize-winning artistry to Beethoven and to Reena Esmail’s Ragamala, a mesmerizing work that dissolves the boundary between western classical music and the ancient melodic traditions of Hindustani raga. The evening closes with one of Mozart’s most deeply felt works, his G minor Viola Quintet, featuring renowned Canadian violist David Harding.
