William Voth

William Voth began cello studies at an early age with Ian Hampton at the Langley Community Music School (LCMS). A recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, he has been nominated several times for the BC Provincial Festival of the Performing Arts in both solo and chamber music categories. He performed as soloist with the LCMS orchestra as winner of the 2023 LCMS Concerto Competition and is also a recipient of the Sharon Stevenson Career Development Scholarship. He won second prize at the 2025 University of Ottawa Concerto Competition, which has earned him the opportunity to play with the uOttawa Orchestra. This past summer, he attended Centre Stage Strings at the University of Michigan. A recipient of the Maurice and Claudette Laroque Cello Scholarship as well as the Harwalkar Memorial Scholarship from the University of Ottawa School of Music, William currently studies in the studio of Paul Marleyn.
