Summerland

CONCERT DETAILS

Date: Sunday, June 4, 2023  |  Time: 7:30 pm

Location: Laudamus Auditorium, Canadian Mennonite University (CMU)
500 Shaftesbury Blvd., Winnipeg

Summer chamber music festivals celebrate the summer and they celebrate music, and we open our 2023 edition with Afro-American composer William Grant Still’s “Summerland” for solo piano. The unifying theme of tonight’s program is American diversity, and we feature lilting songs and dances by four of the most exciting voices in today’s US music scene, alongside American romantic chamber music masterwork, the Piano Quintet by Amy Beach, with its soaring melodies, rich harmonies and captivating romanticism.

You are invited to join us at 7:00 pm for "Meet violist Asdis Valdimarsdottir with host Andrea Ratuski".
